Good luck Earl. Small shops are part of the fabric of the community. It's always very sad when they close. We must make things easier for small businesses to start up and keep going. There do seem to be some initiatives, but London remains far too expensive and doesn't prioritise services and products that local people actually need.
There's a pub off Brick Lane in Cheshire Street called the Carpenters Arms which used to belong to the the infamous twins Ronnie & Reggie. In it above the fireplace at the end of the Saloon bar hangs a monochromatic picture of self same Cheap Booze sign. I love catching this in my glances whilst supping a pint and fondly remembering the many happy times spent living in Haberdasher Street.
This is where one Earls many photographers photographs now resides if anyone wishes to indulge in a nostalgic moment.
That a great story! Good luck Earl, I'm sure there are many more adventures ahead.
